Auditorium Renovation
CONGRATULATIONS!
Baldwin High School's auditorium is being transformed into an amazing performing arts facility. Baldwin-Whitehall Friends of the Theater Arts in cooperation with the Baldwin-Whitehall School Board of Directors is working to bring the facility up to the standard of excellence that we expect from our students.
Regarding the sound system in the auditorium, the acoustics will be vastly improved with the installation of acoustic panels on the side walls and ceiling. This will give audience members a more pleasant experience while watching the many performances at Baldwin High School.
New seats are planned. There will be new staggered seating for better viewing in the center section.
The new orchestra pit will improve sight lines for audience members as well as improve sound balancing. The orchestra pit represents a pit the full 50’ width of the stage, 15' out from the stage, and about 36” deep. This would accommodate the approximately 45 musicians and instruments the current orchestra director prefers to use. All ADA requirements will be met
Overall, the improvements to the auditorium will allow the students of Baldwin High School the opportunity to pursue excellence in a facility to be proud of. The auditorium will be completed in October 2010. We'll see you there!
